Internet giant Google has purchased New York based startup Divide, a cloud-based mobile device management platform that has been touted to solve BYOD dilemmas for android users.
The startup offers a service that complies with corporate BYOD policies whilst ensuring employee privacy and user-freedom, and supports both Android and iOS. Its purpose is to help companies manage the mobile devices that employees use to do their day-to-day work tasks.
Reiterating its original mission of developing “the best mobile experience at work” the team at Divide confirmed the merger on its website and said that for existing customers, Divide will work as it always has.
“We’re thrilled to announce that Divide is joining Google! Divide was founded with a simple mission: Give people the best mobile experience at work. As part of the Android team, we’re excited to continue developing solutions that our users love.
A purchase price wasn’t disclosed in the announcement.
