Optus mobile broadband gives cash back with new plans

Optus has launched a range of BYO Business Mobile Broadband plans with standard SIMs to compliment the range of MicroSIM plans released last week for the iPad.

Optus Mobile BroadbandThe Optus Mobile Broadband plans are aimed at existing and new Small and Medium Business (SMB) customers, with prices starting at $24.99 per month for 1GB of data. Customers are eligible to receive a cash back rebate of up to $300 when they sign up to an eligible 12 month Business Mobile Broadband plan with an Optus approved BYO device.

Phil Offer, Marketing Director, Optus SMB, said “The Business Class BYO plan range is designed to deliver flexible mobile broadband plans to the SMB market. Customers are also eligible to receive a cash back rebate when bringing their own Optus approved device”.

Optus Broadband Mobile plans with 12 month contract terms:

  • 1GB $24.99/month
  • 2GB $34.99/month
  • 5GB $49.99/month
  • 8GB $79.99/month

Optus launched a range of MicroSIM broadband plans last week that almost offer price parity to the BYO Business Mobile Broadband plans announced today, however the MicroSIM iPad plans do not lock users into contracts and have a lower entry price point at $20 for 1Gb of data vs $24.99 for the plans announced today.

To add value for businesses opting to lock themselves into contracts, Optus’ BYO Business Mobile Broadband plans offer cash rebates over the prepaid iPad plans, with customers who bundle an eligible Business Mobile Broadband BYO plan with an eligible mobile phone plan offered the most cash back.
