Information and communications companies will converge in Singapore this June for the industry’s largest event in the Asia-Pac region.

CommunicAsia 2014, to be held in Singapore from June 17-20, will bring together approximately 900 attendees from around the world to exhibit their own companies and to attend presentations from industry leaders.

The event is open to any Australian information and communications technology companies that wish to expand into the Asian market. Exhibitor costs are varied, however attendance is free.

The NSW Government in particular is backing the event as an opportunity for companies to surge into Asian industries that are experiencing high demand, including information and communications technology as well as the business events sector.

NSW Deputy Premier and Minister for Trade and Investment Andrew Stoner said that by participating, companies could increase their profile in Asia, secure investment and expand internationally.

Key information and communications industry issues such as app development, bandwidth improvements and the impact of big data will be addressed at the conference. Speakers at this year’s event include Viktor Mayer-Schonberger Professor of Internet Governance and Regulation at Oxford University, and Michael Smith chief commercial officer at Singtel.

In 2013, CommunicAsia attracted 25,698 trade visitors from 95 countries and there were 1324 exhibiting companies from 49 countries/regions.

Although attendees must pay for their own travel and accommodation, some businesses may be eligible for an Export Market Development Grant (EMDG) from Austrade to reimburse their expenses.

Business NSW is hoping to assemble a trade mission and is encouraging companies that are currently exporting or planning to export to Asia to apply.

Companies interested in attending should register their interest before the 14th of February – click here for more details.
