Grants program calling for not-for-profits to apply

Australian Ethical, an Australian superannuation and investment company, is calling for applicants to its 2014 Community Grants program.

$100,000 in funding is available for not-for-profit organisations, social enterprises and community projects, an initiative that will see Australian Ethical donate 10 per cent of its profits from the past year.

Paul Smith, from Australian Ethical, said the grants would give certain organisations the chance to present worthwhile projects.

“This is a great opportunity for organisations of all shapes and sizes to put forward their most impactful project that is in need of some valued funding,” Smith said.

The $100,000 in funding will be spread across 3 amounts:

  • 2 grants of $20,000
  • 5 grants of $10,000
  • 2 grants of $5,000

Australian Ethical says grants will be awarded to organisations delivering “impactful and tangible outcomes” in Australia or overseas.

The program has given not-for-profit groups over $1.5 million in funding since its inception 13 years ago.

“Our products predominantly invest in listed companies that are positively impacting society and the planet in the fields of technology, healthcare, efficiency and clean, smart energy. We are proud to extend that investment to visionary organisations that are working towards an ethical, sustainable future,” concluded Smith.

Applications close on 31 October, 2014. Applicants can apply at http://www.australianethical.com.au/community-grants
