Reducing Retail Discrimination

Attempts to reduce discrimination, towards people experiencing homelessness, are being made by the Victorian Government.

The Victorian Small Business Commissioner’s office has released new guidelines for retailers, to ensure homeless people are not refused service. The Education campaign includes an advisory group with industry, community, and government representatives, alongside DVDs and other communication tools.

Contact the Civil Law Policy unit on (03) 8684 0839 for retailer training tools, or find the new guidelines at http://www.justice.gov.au
