Telstra dumps bill fee
Telstra has dropped its controversial $2.20 administration fee for people paying their bills over the counter or by mail, less than two months after it was introduced.
The fee was initially introduced to encourage consumers to switch to electronic payments.
The company’s chief executive officer, David Thodey said they had listened to customer feedback and will look at alternative ways to encourage consumers to switch to electronic payments.
The fee will be dropped over the next few months and Telstra will automatically refund customers who have paid the charge since September 14.
